Hock No. 80 Cabinet Scraper Replacement Blade

Spent about 10 minutes flattening the back and touching up the edge. Dropped the blade in my Stanley 80 scraper. Found out the scraper is is a push knife not a draw knife. Turned the blade around to the correct direction and wispy smooth shavings came out first time.

This review is for a Hock replacement blade for a Stanley #80 Scraper. Item was received on time as promised in adequate packaging. Upon initial inspection a large burr was noted on one side of the blade at the cutting edge. I quickly removed it with a diamond stone. Further inspection revealed the blade was not flat. There was a significant bow to the blade with the ends of the cutting edge higher than the middle when viewed from the bevel side. The bevel also had grind serrations. After quite sometime on the diamond stones, coarse, fine, x-fine I was able to achieve a workable edge. As I just received this item I can’t report on the edge holding ability of the blade. Needless to say, after reading the other reviews this is not what I expected from a blade of this recognized level of quality or cost. Maybe final inspection was having a bad day; I would hope to think that their quality has not gone down this far if mine was a good sample of today’s production. Made in France

Great scraper blade. Fits my Stanley #80 scraper perfectly.Usually the Stanley #80 is black. After some reconditioning, my old #80 has a brighter personality.The Hock blade takes an edge and holds it. With the extra thickness of this blade, the tool has the muscle of a bright yellow fire truck.This blade will pay for itself with reduced sandpaper. Faster, too. Sweet.

It's a Hock! Very nice blade. Would recommend. Have not tried it in my Stanley # 80 cabinet scraper yet.

It holds an edge a lot longer than other scraper blades I have used.
