Not impressed at all!
This item needs a lot of work. It was a waste of money in my and my husband's opinions. Our 2.5 year old sucks her middle and ring fingers together. She is getting sores and bumps on her fingers and it is changing the shape of her mouth. At the recommendation of her dentist, we decided to try and kick the habit. There are two finger guard options out there, this being the cheaper of the two. I haven't tried the other one so don't know how it compares. This one is junk, though! It is too big for the average sized toddler so it is huge around her fingers. The air vent holes are also huge so she just sticks her fingers through the holes and sucks them that way. Or, because the material is so stretchy, she can literally stretch it up and over her fingers so that it hangs to the side and she can freely suck them. At first I thought we should have tried it when she was much younger so she couldn't stretch it so much. But then it really would have been huge on her. Dumb construction without much thought or input from actual users.

This Device Really Works!!!
I not one to really write a review on products BUT this was definitely and exception. My son has sucked his index and middle fingers since he was around 5 months old. His pediatrician on his 14 month check up said, I don’t know what you’re going to do about those fingers but you might wanna see if there is something out there. So my bonus daughter found this blessing! I am happy to say that it really works! Now, it took a month but we were consistent with keeping it on. We took it off to give him a break during the day but monitored him closely. If he attempted to put his fingers in his mouth, device it was! May sound cruel but what I can tell you is, his fingers are still healing with thick skin and his nail beds are growing since he no longer sucks his fingers. He is still very much a happy camper not sucking them. So my advice, buy it and try it! Don’t be discouraged, it works!!!

Worked for my 4 year old
This worked very quickly with my 4 yr old who sucked her 2 fingers ALL the time. It was comfortable to wear. Within a couple weeks it broke her habit of automatically putting her fingers in her mouth. She did chew on and slightly tear one plastic finger and a 4 yr can easily take it off if they’re so inclined. It gets quite dirty if playing outside and hard to thoroughly wash/dry hands. I did find that while she was not sucking her fingers during the day, I had to continue with over night use, as the fingers found way into her mouth while sleeping. I’d recommend as nothing else worked for us.

Okay if not needed long
It worked but it was stiff and slightly affected her using her hands, she was also able to remove it and it did unfortunately rip over time.

Didn't work
My 5 yr old easily slips her fingers out through the wholes and continues sucking her fingers

Didn't Work For Us
I bought this for my daughter who can't keep her fingers out of her mouth. After a few days it rubbed a sore on her skin so she stopped using it. She eventually learned to keep her fingers out of her mouth mostly. She would still suck her fingers in her sleep so she started wearing it just at night. Then I noticed she would just pull it to the side and suck her fingers anyway. It might work better for someone who starts using it earlier in age than we did.

Something that finally worked for us.
We tried bitters and different gloves for it 2yo son and he would either ignore them or wait us out. Finally we tried this and he didn’t try to take it off, he didn’t fuss about it, and within a short time we saw results. We kept it in a little longer just in case he was trying to wait us out again, but after about a month he was over his finger sucking habit. Inexpensive, easy to put on and remove to clean. Could be timing, but wish we would have tried this first!

Did not work for our 5 year old at all.
Our daughter went though two of these in 3 months. We have tried everything we can think of to get her to keep it on but she is able to take it off completely or just move it to the side and continue to suck on here fingers. The problem is its to stretchy. At first I thought that was a good thing since I thought it would still let here have some mobility however she quickly learned that she can just pull it up enough to slide her fingers out and move it to the side. She was even able at its tightest wrist setting to just slip her whole hand out. She absolutely hated it and cut the first one with her craft sizers and chewed the locking ball off of the second one. Maybe this will work for a kid that is younger than 3. We started just a couple moths before she turned five.
