These Ice Cleats Work
After falling on the driveway and landing on my elbow, I decided on the way to the ER, that I needed to stop shoveling snow or stop falling. For exercise during winter, I decided to continue shoveling, but prevent future falls. These ice cleats are easy to put on and definitely give needed traction on icy surfaces. At least for my application, I don't need to use the over-the-shoe strap. So much cheaper than a visit to the ER!

They provide extra traction on icy pavement, especially on inclines.
I bought these to add to my snow boots that I wear while snow blowing my driveway. They provide extra traction on icy pavement, especially on inclines. They are easy to add to the boots, and the extra cross strap keeps them secure on the boot so that they don't unexpectedly come off while the previous set I add from a different vendor.

Good not great -- see video for strap help
The media could not be loaded. Note -- this review is before we have had a chance to use them on the ice. Product seems good not great. Strong rubber fits on my hiking boot great. Not to happy with the rubber covering the spikes though. Rubber completely covered alot of them so we had to use an Exacto knife to trim the rubber off so the spikes actually showed (see photos below for comparison) Took a little bit to figure out the strap -- you have to put the buckle end on the boot first and hook the strap through the buckle so it holds onto the rubber foot, then place it across the boot and pull the other end of the strap around the other side of the rubber foot to secure it. No instructions so I made a little video to help others. See the attached video.

Worthless Straps!
The cleats are fine but the straps are not the same as the picture. There is no name on the straps and they do not work! They are about 5 inches too short and seem really cheap. When you try to strap them on like the picture, there is only a couple inches left to fold back to the velcro and it won’t stick. I even had my husband try and he said, “Those are worthless - send them back.” I would have sent them back except it has been snowing a lot and I needed them when shoveling snow and taking the dog for walks. I used twine to tie them on so I wouldn’t lose them.I’ve lost several cleats that had no straps because they fall off in the snow. I bought these cleats because they had straps.

These cleats are a game changer.
I rarely give product reviews, but I'm psyched about these cleats and I have to tell. They are the best items of their kind I've ever used, and I've tried quite a few. They go on over your shoes or boots pretty easily. I find they are so secure, I don't need the straps. For years I used Yaktraks. I'd give them about a 3. They are not in the same league as these real cleats. The best part: the little spikes themselves are omnidirectional. That is, they are angled in all four different directions. I've TRIED to slip one way or another. It can't be done.I live near the north pole... NEW JERSEY! We've been encased in ICE and frigid temps for weeks. Now I can walk my dog again.

Very Grippy
Only used them 2 times so far. They provided excellent traction on ice, were easy to put on and stayed on. I like that they can be easily removed and put in a coat pocket when not needed.
